American tennis superstar Venus Williams has decided to quit US Open after she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which affected her energy and play on the professional tennis court.
Williams who won her first match in the prestigious tennis event expressed disappointment over decision to quit but explained it is the right thing to do since autoimmune disease is quite a serious ailment. According to reports, Williams is suffering from Sjögren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease that affects her energy level and causes fatigue and joint pain.”
Internet data state that four million Americans are inflicted with this kind of disease wherein 90 percent of whom are women. The disease usually hit the body’s moisture glands with white blood cells and causes various symptoms ranging from dry mouth to debilitating fatigue.
If her ailment had not hit her, Williams is supposed to battle Wimbledon semifinalist Sabine Lisicki in the second round.  The decision of Williams to quit has disappointed a lot of professional tennis fans who wants to her compete in the US Open.
